As promised, here is the tutorial on how to turn your New Heartfelt Creations Journal Pads into your new journal/planner for the upcoming year. I so enjoyed being able to create this book with the journal pads. I have tried to include Heartfelt Creations in my previous years planners but these pads made it so simple to do. With pages created just for this purpose, I could dig right in and start decorating and adding special sections. It would have been too time consuming and expensive to create this book using only the 12 x 12 pads. Now I can just place the journals into the binder and use my 12 x 12's for embellishments. I am so glad that Heartfelt Creations decided to join in on Journaling which is so popular. Finally we Heartfelt lovers will be able to journal on our favorite papers. I've been busy with my journal creating calendars to add to my binder which fits the new pages perfectly. I have so many plans for these beautiful new pages. They come with samples from many different collections so every collector has something that matches the pages which are filled with inspiring sentiments and images. So fun. The picture below is a sneak peek into an upcoming video sharing some of my ideas on what can be done with these new journals. For right now, check out the close up video below. In it you can see the journals, papers, and the new flower shaping molds. I'll be creating some videos showing everyone how they work to help you create lots of beautifully shaped flowers with ease. So many exciting new products from Heartfelt Creations. Oh I've waited for this for a long time. I wanted a stamp platform to make stamping easier and so that I could re-stamp an image that came out poorly. But...I didn't want to overpay for one. I wanted to be able to use any sized paper that I chose to. I wanted to be able to use rubber and acrylic stamps both without having to purchase multiple tools. I wanted something that was versatile and made with sound construction. Was I asking for too much? Not according to Tim Holtz and Tonic Studio. I finally have it all in one wonderful stamp platform. I'm looking forward to being able to mass produce cards with ease. I also want to try out some of that new (or maybe not so new because I'm a little slow sometimes:) layering stamping that's been all the rage. Masking will be a breeze. This is going to be so fun. In this video I introduce the new Stamp Platform by Tim Holtz. You will see the unboxing and I even demonstrate a quick anniversary card using the Heartfelt Creations Wedding Collection Stamps. I hope you like this as much as I do. Enjoy! The distress Oxide Re-Inkers are in the store. I am so excited about these. Not only can we keep our new favorite ink pads juicy, but with direct from the bottle techniques we'll have an excuse to use our new favorite inks even more. My favorite cardstock for coloring with markers, pencils, and inks of many types is Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth White Cardstock 100LB weight. It is strong enough to hold up to fussy cutting or diecutting. It is very smooth and bright white which helps your coloring to pop out from the paper. Colors remain vivid and the typical bleed through is less than with many other types of card stock. I love working on this cardstock for all types of stamping and coloring projects. Below is a sample of my current project using Heartfelt Creations Tropical Paradise Collection. I colored this parrot with the Zig Brushable water based markers and the paper held up really well. Most card stock starts piling quite easily with water based markers but this paper stood up through even a second coat with no issues. I'm not the best colorist. Having a quality paper to work with really makes the job much easier. I don't sell this cardstock myself but I will leave the amazon link below so that you can find it for yourself. In this video I show a close up of all of the beautiful papers, dies, and stamps from the Heartfelt Creations Tropical Paradise Collection. This collection is filled with fantastic rainbow colors and beautifully designed tropical images of parrots, love birds, and pink flamingos. So fun and colorful. The new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks are really quite unique. They contain both pigment and dye inks. The combination results in the ability to utilize some of the best features that each type of ink has to offer. The dye ink reacts when wet. It moves and spreads the color to create a wonderful chalky oxidized look. The pigment ink allows you to smoothly blend, emboss, and color on dark cardstock. The combination of these features opens up a whole new world of techniques. In the video below you can watch me apply these techniques to dark backgrounds. If you would like to see the way that they work on light backgrounds look for my other video on Distress Oxides. Don't forget to come back to the store and pickup a few of your favorite colors to try them for yourself. This collection has fantastic colors. A delight for the eyes. Such fun and energy in this collection. Watch this video to see the paper close up. |
